Disclosure

Affiliate Disclosure

Full disclosure of how apartmentespresso makes money, what affiliate relationships we have, and how we keep editorial decisions independent of those relationships.

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click through and buy something, we earn a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is the same — affiliate commissions come out of the retailer's margin, not from you.

We bought every machine on this site ourselves before joining any affiliate program. No machine was provided by a manufacturer. No brand has ever paid for inclusion, ranking, or favorable review.

Affiliate programs we participate in Amazon Associates (US) — 1-4% commission on espresso machine and coffee category sales. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. We do not currently have affiliate relationships with other retailers. Any non-Amazon shopping links you may see on this site are unaffiliated — we earn nothing from clicks or purchases through them. How affiliate relationships do NOT affect content

  1. Score is data-derived. Apt-Fit Score is computed from manufacturer dimensions, pump type, and electrical specs. Affiliate commission rate is not an input. Full methodology →
  2. Higher commission machines are not pushed. Cafelat Robot (~$400, low margin) and Bambino base (~$300, low margin) frequently rank above higher-commission Breville models on apartment-fit grounds.
  3. Negative scores are published when deserved. If a machine has weak reliability data on Reddit or fails an Apt-Fit axis, the review says so — even if we'd earn more commission by being kinder.
  4. Manufacturer-supplied units are explicitly flagged. Currently zero machines on the site were manufacturer-provided. If that changes — e.g., a brand sends a unit for review — the review header will state so prominently.

FTC compliance

Per FTC guidance on endorsement disclosures (16 CFR Part 255), we declare:

What "as an Amazon Associate" means in practice

When you click an Amazon link from this site, your visit is tagged with our Amazon Associates ID. If you buy any qualifying item from Amazon within the next 24 hours (the "session window"), we earn commission on the entire purchase — even items unrelated to coffee.

Practically: if you visit our Bambino Plus review, click through to Amazon, and end up buying a Bambino Plus + a book + dish soap — we earn ~$15-30 from the espresso machine commission and a few cents from the book and dish soap. None of this changes the price you pay.

We disclose this because some readers find the cookie-based attribution unintuitive. If you'd prefer your Amazon visit not be associated with our commission, simply visit Amazon directly without clicking our link.

Cookies & tracking

This site uses minimal cookies — primarily affiliate tracking and Cloudflare anti-bot. We do not use behavioral advertising cookies, retargeting, or data brokers. Privacy details: /privacy/

Pricing accuracy

Prices listed in reviews are "live snapshots" — verified at publication date but not continuously updated. Always click through and verify on the retailer page before purchasing. We try to refresh prices monthly but commit no SLA.

Changes to this disclosure

If we add new affiliate partnerships, change commission tiers materially, or accept manufacturer-provided units in the future, this page will be updated. Last revision: 2026-05-03.
